Stop Smart Motorways
Highways England have created death traps with the introduction of the so-called Smart Motorways.
The House of Commons Transport Committee called them a 'radical departure from standard practice' and urged the Emergency Refuge Areas be placed far more frequently (half a mile between as opposed to 2 miles) over 3 years ago and yet this STILL to be implemented. Highways England guidance on how to operate on a Smart Motorway contradicts UK law (They suggest avoiding pulling over yet the law states you must exchange contact details after an accident).
