This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions which call for actions that are the responsibility of the Government or Parliament.

While the Secretary of State can change the change boundaries of local authorities, they can only create new unitary authorities with the consent of the relevant local authorities. This is therefore a local matter, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a while.

You could raise the issue with local councillors who represent you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, here:

www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

You could petition Shropshire Council. You can find out how to do that here:

shropshire.gov.uk/committee-services/mgePetitionListDisplay.aspx

You could ask your MP to take up your issue on your behalf. You can find out who your MP is, and how to contact them, here:

www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/

You could start a new petition calling for a clear action that is the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. You'll need to give your full name to start a new petition.
