Foster children should be allowed to share rooms with other children.
I'd like to provide a safe and caring home for foster children but unfortunately due to the criteria being that we should have a spare room I'm unable to foster. I've got a lovely 5 year old boy who wouldn't mind sharing his room.
Properties in London are expensive and I don't believe anyone would have a spare room which is not occupied and having to pay bedroom tax if so, unless you own your own property. I don't see why we can't foster young children to share a room in a loving caring home. Many people out there would like to foster and would like to help but are unable to because of not having a spare room.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions which call for actions that are the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The law says that foster children over the age of 3 years should have there own bedroom where physically possible and "taking into account the child's wishes and feelings". This is therefore a decision for local fostering services and foster children themselves, not the Government or Parliament.
You could raise the issue with your local councillors who represent you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, here:

Fosterline has published some advice about the type of fostering services you can offer if you're short of space. You can find out more here:
