Make pet ownership a human right, recognise emotional support animals.
We call on our government to introduce legalisation that bans no pet covenants in leases and tenancy agreements, makes responsible pet ownership a human right and recognises the importance of emotional support and companion animals.
Research and evidence to support need for these changes is extensive, here are a few practical and important reasons:
Create 1000s of homes for rescue pets, loving families who are currently prohibited by such clauses
Eliminate heartache caused when people whose circumstances change are forced to choose between a roof over their heads and their best friend
Open doors for those who choose to sleep on the streets in all weathers because shelters refuse to let them in with their pet

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
