Petition Details

I feel MP’s should be addressed as ‘dis-honourable’ member for ******* etc and not as ‘right honourable’ . This would more fairly reflect the national feeling and more importantly more accurately describe a majority of MP’s .

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the title "Right Honourable" is given to Privy Councillors when they are appointed to the Privy Council. It isn't given to all MPs and it isn't given by Parliament, so Parliament can't take it away. In any case, we can't accept petitions asking for an honour to be taken away from someone.
