Automatic by-election if an MP resigns or is removed from their political party
MPs are elected by their constituents based upon their personal and party manifesto promises. This gives them a mandate to act on behalf of the people who elected them as an MP and follow mandate granted by their constituents. Any MP changing political party after being elected loose that confidence
A number of MPs from several political parties have swapped allegiances in this parliamentary term since the last election, they have lost the right to represent the majority of their constituents fairly on the manifesto and mandate in which they were elected. If a soldier changed sides during a conflict this would be regarded as treason & they would be replaced. So too should any MP not following the manifesto on which they were elected & a by-election should automatically take place!
