Abolish the Fixed Term Parliaments Act!
Former PM David Cameron introduced the FTPA so that Prime Ministers could only call a General Election before the end of a scheduled 5 year term if a two thirds majority of MPs was achieved.
The FTPA is an act of constitutional vandalism.
Its introduction on to the statute book upset the balance of power between the executive and the legislature.
It is time it was abolished so that Prime Ministers can call a General Election when they feel the timing is right for them to do so.
