Recognise Optical Assistant/Dispensing Assistant as professional job
For too long now opticians/eye hospitals have been taking advantage of this skill that we have trained years to understand.but the pay is not what it should be for issuing what is technically a prescription for an eye. There needs to be a standard wage higher than the minimum wage for this job.
Dispensing/Optical assistant needs to be recognised as a professional skill this is not an off the street job but employers Have been taking full advantage of people like myself that worked hard in this industry The pay should not be minimum wage for a job that requires you to be precise With an eye prescription and issue the correct lens .£18,500 Should be the standard with in any company or Health provider
