why Isn’t there a law for parents who chose not to see their children?

Petition Details

Why should one parent have to do it all? And not get a break from bringing up their children. If parents separate then I truly believe that assess should legal. There are two many adults out there that are not seeing there children because they choose don’t want to.

Additional Information

Speaking from my own experience, my father left 2 of us when we were younger to start a new family, my mum was left single handed to do it alone.
My friend has two teenage boys there father pays child maintenance but is to lazy to see them, how is that fair on the two boys and their mother! There are laws out there for parents who want to see their children, so why isn’t there a law for parents who choose not to?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
