Petition Action

Reject climate change denial and reaffirm commitment to zero-carbon targets.

Petition Details

A letter titled “There is no climate emergency” has been sent to the EU and UN in a campaign by the Climate Intelligence Foundation (Clintel) and cosignatories. The assertions of this letter are false and we call on Parliament to reject it and reaffirm their commitment to zero-carbon targets.

Additional Information

News article confirming the existence of the letter and the organisation planning further action to stop zero-carbon targets becoming law: https://www.independent.co.uk/environment/climate-change-science-deniers-boris-johnson-environment-leak-a9094631.html

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The UK has recently set in law a target to reduce net carbon emission to zero by 2050:

We're not sure what else you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to reject climate change denial and reaffirm its commitment.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
