Presence of a mental health professional at school should be legally inclined.
The rate of deaths among under 25s increased by 23.7%, reaching 730 deaths in 2018.
In order to prevent this number from increasing, mental health professionals should be present in schools frequently to provide support for those who do not have access to support at home.
Many children and teenagers who are undergoing a stressful home life feel as if they have no where to turn to. With the help of a mental health professional who is present at school frequently we can prevent them from feeling hopeless and therefore turning to self harm or suicide.
Mental health professionals can also provide support when it comes to eating disorders, self harm, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety and more.
