Make it illegal for MPs to act or vote against the wishes of their constituents
There is ample evidence that, since the referendum on whether to Remain within, or Leave the EU, a substantial number of MPs are acting / voting for Remain contrary to the wishes of their constituents. These constituents are supposed to have confidence that their MPs represent their wishes.
Simple mathematics shows this must be true! Whilst the referendum wasn't conducted by constituencies, as it would for a general election, several statisticians have assessed the voting by constituency as being 400+ Leave / 200+ Remain; whereas the number of MPs voting/acting for Remain is assessed at 400+, with 200+ voting/acting for Leave - a clear, and highly dubious imbalance. This link suggests some of this: https://facts4eu.org/news/2019_jan_mps_leave_constituencies#

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
How an MP votes would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.
You could ask your own MP to vote according to the result of referendum in your constituency. You can find out who your MP is and how to contact them here:
