Grant EU citizens who register for settled status the indefinite right to remain
In 2016, the Leave campaign promised "there will be no change for EU citizens already lawfully resident in the UK" and they would be given "indefinite leave to remain".
We call upon the Government to change settled status to a registration and enshrine EU citizens rights in primary legislation.
Given recent government actions, we no longer have faith in the promises made on EU citizens' rights.
The process should now be changed from an application, to a registration, allowing our fellow EU citizens to continue to live, love and work in the UK.
The guarantee of their rights must take the form of primary legislation, to ensure that changes cannot be easily made at a later date.
