Encourage supermarkets to set up donation points for unused 'bags for life'.
I want to encourage supermarkets to set up a bag for life donation point, where the public can donate unused bags for life. Customers can then reuse these free of charge. This system ensures that bags for life are being reused, as designed, reducing the plastic waste produced by customers.
Every small change we can make to reduce our plastic usage will have a significant difference on the environment. This system would also be profitable to supermarkets, cutting the financial costs of producing new bags for life.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you're concerned about unused bags for life but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to encourage supermarkets to set up donation points.
You could raise your idea with the supermarkets themselves.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, for example a petition calling for supermarkets to be required by law to implement your idea.
