Stop cosmetics companies from promoting single use products such as cotton pads
With the large environmental impacts from farming vast amounts of cotton, to the waste that is produced from many people using single use cotton pads to remove their makeup, it is unacceptable that large companies such as The Body Shop, recommend the use of cotton pads on their skincare products.
The UK government have declared climate emergency, due to irreversible damage. We need to act now to stop the frivolous single-use items that are used in day-to-day life, one of such being cotton pads. WWF Textiles and Cotton Lead, recommends, 'replace disposable beauty products with reusable ones.' The first step to doing so is disallowing large companies to advertise the use of cotton pads, such as The Body Shop’s cleansers and the direction of ‘remove with a cotton pad’.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you're concerned about use of cotton pads but we're not sure exactly which other single-use items you're concerned about, or what you'd like the Goverment or Parliament to do to stop companies promoting them.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, for example to ban advertising of cotton pads and other specified items, if that's what you'd like to happen.
