Ban supermarkets from using single-use plastics with their products
Being an employee of a supermarket myself, I have seen a rather large amount of plastic come in and out every single day. Whether it's holding boxes of washing detergent or the small sheet of plastic that allows you to see what vegetables you've put in a bag, plastic is used an unnecessary amount.
Whilst we are promised that these supermarkets do recycle waste, what evidence have we been shown? On top of this, how do we know every consumer is recycling their plastics at home? The root of this problem comes from these supermarket chains and their suppliers who don't take enough responsibility for the amount of plastic they churn out. To combat this, banning single-use plastics and implementing sustainable alternatives like bioplastics made from PLA can reduce the impact supermarkets have.
