Petition Action

Automatic by-election when a Member of Parliament changes party.

Petition Details

We have recently seen numbers of sitting MPs swapping party without reference to their constituents. This must automatically mean an immediate by-election.

Additional Information

MPs are elected on a party manifesto so if they are no longer willing to support that manifesto it should be up to the electorate to decide whether or not they agree. To not call a by-election is a betrayal of their constituents.
