No to speed camera's in the England
speed cameras, while causing drivers to slow down for the very small distance around the camera do not have a make a large difference to the overall speed of drivers generally.
They are in fact a danger in many circumstances, whereby people who do not know where they are situated, even though they may be only a few miles per hour over the speed limit will still instinctively hit the breaks effectively doing a emergency stop in the middle of the highway. The dangers of this are obvious for all to see on relative to relative to that of travelling a few miles per hour of the speed limit.
The proposed changes I put forward are that speed cameras are phased out throughout the highway network, however do continue police patrols throughout the road network to catch those who believe that they can speed excessively and dangerously
