Remove pay setting power for Council Leaders and Executives from local authority

Petition Details

Several local council executives are paid huge sums of monies in many cases more than the PM. Tax payer money should be vetted.

Additional Information

Walsall Council's Chief Executive is paid £198,562
Dudley Council's Cheif Executive is paid £189,000
Staffordshire Council's Chief Executive is paid £203,393
Wolverhampton Council's Chief Executive is paid £155,595
Bedfordshire Borough Council's chief exec salary band is £156,075 - £173,417 and this is documented on their own website

Why should council tax payers money be spent like this when public services and infrastructure spending is being cut? Why should they be paid more than MPs?
