Additional Information

Change the property survey responsibility to the seller so any potential buyer can view a home buyers survey with no outlay. At present the buyer has to have a survey at a cost if the survey comes back with problems the buyer then loses out if they can't buy and then have to pay for surveys on other properties which co up cost thousands a sellers pack with a full survey report would help both seller and buyer address any issues

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

There is no legal responsibility on a property buyer to have a home buyer's survey, and a buyer could negotiate with a seller about who bears the costs of any survey and related costs, so we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, for example to create a legal responsibility on sellers.
