Stop the development of HS2 and revise for alternate plans
Costs to the project of HS2 have risen to more than £80 billion and could be delayed for another seven years heavily impacting the economy and reaches a top speed of 240 mph ripping through our loved countryside. The project has already had major set backs and should be revised or scrapped entirely
Do the benefits of the HS2 outweigh the cost and issues around it? I propose a substitute for the HS2- the Hyperloop. The H1 reaches speeds of 760mph making a quicker commute and and could be built in as few as 40 months for so much less. Due to it being in tubes the UK can invest in renewable energy running wires and panels outside the tube. It could also operate using this energy at would cost far less to run. This is far more viable option than HS2 and should be looked at as a strong alternate

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you're concerned about HS2 but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure whether you want to cancel HS2 and invest instead in a Hyperloop system, or whether you want to investigate the feasibility of a Hyperloop system to replace HS2.
There's already a petition about halting work on HS2 which you might like to sign:
petition.parliament.uk/petitions/255413
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
