Public inquiry into the new BBC Sounds app

Petition Details

The new BBC Sounds app is difficult to use and has reduced accessibility to content for many users. Most notably, the daily schedules are impossible to find. Thousands of users of the abruptly deprecated iPlayer app have lost their playlists and favourites, causing much distress.

Additional Information

The new app scores only 1.5 out of 5 on the Google Play store.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
