Companies going broke, assets and finances should go to all those effected.

Petition Details

Thomas Cook bosses apologised for the disaster they created, and ran off with whatever funds remained. Plus their massive bonuses for running the company into the ground. They didn't offer a penny to anyone effected by their incompetence and greed

Additional Information

The boss of Thomas Cook was almost laughing as he read his hollow apology. And his arrogance in asking the government to pay for his mess through tax payers money was obscene to say the least. The bosses stripped all the assets from a failing company and gave themselves what finances remained in massive bonuses.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand you're concerned about people affected by the collapse of Thomas Cook, but we're not sure exactly who you want to be compensated or how you want that to happen. We can only accept petitions which call for actions that are the responsibility of the Government or Parliament. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

Customers may already be entitled to refunds. You can find out more here:

There are already petitions about this issue. There's a petition calling for a public inquiry:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/274851

There's also a petition calling for the Government to fund a compensation scheme for Thomas Cook staff owed pay:

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/275778

You might like to sign one of these petitions. You're more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
