Raise the price of plastic bags
Due to the amount of plastic in our oceans our wildlife is suffering greatly. Recently 7 tonnes of marine plastic was found on a remote island called Arnhem Land beach. Currently there is 8 million metric tonnes of plastic being dumped in our oceans per year.
This 8 million tonnes is the equivalent of one garbage truck per minute. This is predicted to have increased to 5 garbage trucks per minute by by 2050. The amount of plastic pollution in our ocean it increasing yearly. Plastic bags and other plastic products are causing some of the worlds most amazing creatures to be killed as they mistaken the bags for food and jellyfish which then causes them to choke so if we don't cut down on this plastic pollution a lot of species will become extinct.
