Make socio-economic background a protected characteristic (Equality Act 2010)

Petition Details

There are currently nine characteristics which are protected under the Equality Act 2010, however, socio-economic background (or someone's class) is not one of them. The Act was designed to prevent indirect discrimination against persons sharing protected characteristics, by making it illegal.
