Negotiate with the EU a ban on live animal exports before the delivery of Brexit
Urgent appeal for the Government to negotiate a ban on live animal exports abroad prior to the delivery of Brexit. EU rules currently allow live animal exports but as a definitive date for Brexit is unknown, the Government should negotiate with the EU to end this practice before Brexit occurs.
In response to a previous petition the Government have clearly stated it is their intention to end the live export of animals but that they were only able to do so once Brexit has occurred. Given the current uncertain nature surrounding the delivery of Brexit, especially if there was an extension to Article 50, we are asking that parallel negotiations take place to allow the Government to end this cruel and barbaric practice regardless of the outcome of Brexit.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you're concerned about live animal exports, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. In particular, we're not sure if you're concerned about UK exports or EU exports.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
