Make medium and large sized companies publish net carbon emissions data
Consumers and investors should be empowered to make environmentally ethical choices. A mandatory scheme for companies to publish easily accessible and understandable data relating to their carbon emissions will help make the free market improve human environmental impact by consumer choice.
This scheme will help bring about the changes envisioned here by the Governor of the Bank of England - Mark Carney. In doing so it will legitimise aspects of capitalism that traditionally have insufficiently considered environment impact as part of the cost of production.
