Institute a medal for HM Armed Forces wounded in action.

Additional Information

Members of HM Armed Forces wounded on ‘active service’ would be awarded an official medal, similar in concept to the United States ‘Purple Heart’.

The medal would recognise the suffering and additional sacrifices service personnel make on behalf of the nation as a result of sustaining injuries.

The medal would be worn on the uniform. The design and award criteria are for the Crown / MoD to decide.

The petition creator pledges £10’000 of his own money to initiate a public fund – if legislation for such a medal is passed as a result of this petition.
