Reintroduce national service.
Crime rates in Britain have significantly increased. Young people are getting involved in bad company and committing serious offences. Antisocial behaviour, drug gangs, burglaries and stabbings are all on the rise. We need to get people off the streets to make communities safer.
National service does not necessarily need to be the military, but it could be uniformed roles where we have shortages of people, such as the prison service, the ambulance service, the fire service and hospitals. We need to help improve and give back to society. This would provide fantastic life skills; including a sense of responsibility and accountability to young men and women. It would also enable social integration and help maintain peaceful relations. (17-21 years old for 18 months).
