Stop government funds for green energy being invested in Argentinian oil.
Government funds of up to £1 billion intended for use in support of “infrastructure, green energy and healthcare” in Argentina are instead being invested in the oil shale industry.
This exploitative behaviour contradicts the UK parliament's declaration of a climate emergency, and must be stopped.
In May 2019 the UK government declared an environment and climate emergency. We are at a tipping point in the history of our planet and the UK is a leader in climate policy.
The intensely hypocritical investments in Argentinian shale support a polluting industry with catastrophic implications, and further exploitative behaviour that affects indigenous communities.
