Ensure all NHS nurses working extra hours for the NHS are paid at overtime rates
Nurses with permanent NHS employment are often only offered extra work by their employer under a separate employment contract. Pay rates are the same as their permanent role. Nurses working extra hours above their contracted time should automatically be paid agreed overtime rates.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you're concerned about overtime pay rates for NHS nurses but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
Section 3 of the NHS Terms and Conditions of Service Handbook says that all NHS staff in pay bands 1 to 7 will be eligible for overtime payments at a single harmonised rate. You can find out more here:
www.nhsemployers.org/tchandbook/part-2-pay/section-3-overtime-payments
The Royal College of Nursing has also published information about NHS terms of employment, including overtime pay rates, here:
www.rcn.org.uk/employment-and-pay/nhs-conditions-of-employment
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
