Do not break with tradition on giving Speaker a knighthood.
John Bercow has been an exceptional Speaker of House of Commons. Keeping order in house and upholding democracy.
John Bercow was elected Speaker on 22nd June 2009. He was re-elected, unopposed, three times, following the general elections in 2010, 2015 and 2017.
Someone who has ten years service to the country in office of Speaker deserves to receive the traditional knighthood.
