Petition Action

Elected Representatives To Answer Questions When Asked

Additional Information

To the Honourable the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled.
The Humble petition of the signatories to this e-petition declare that failure to clearly, honestly and directly answer questions put to elected representatives, both within the Houses of Parliament and outside – by individuals and by representatives of the media - , when they are asked is anathema to many people.

The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons enact legislation requiring all elected representatives, when responding in their official capacity, to commence any answer “yes …”, “no …” or “I don’t know …” to any question capable of being so answered.

And the petitioners remain, etc.
