To Decrease the Cost of National Rate Numbers Especially in Relation to Businesses
To stop businesses using premium phone lines (so called national rate numbers such as 0845/0870/0844), for customer services, where the number of staff employed is likely to mean waiting times of more than 3 minutes and in instances where this is not the case, to have them replace national rate numbers with local rate numbers. Alternatively, for the Government to impose a pricing tariff onto mobile network providers that means that these numbers, along with 0800, are charged at a lower rate of 2p per minute, if not entirely free.
