Petition Action

HMG should inform potential voters that an independent Scotland may find it difficult to fund various state affairs like civil service, embassies

Additional Information

An independent Scotland may find it difficult to fund defence, immigration, foreign affairs, EU membership, civil service, Inland Revenue, momentary system, passports & driving licencing, policing, prisons, legal aid, welfare benefits, embassies in foreign countries, etc; on top of free NHS, prescriptions, schooling and higher education. Independent Scotland’s economy may well be stretched. Scotland border checks would be necessary to prevent illegal immigrants from Scotland entering England and Northern Ireland. Also new RN warships may not be built in an independent Scotland.
