in the current climate of benefit capping and public exposure of benefit cheating, should not the government become the employer of last resort, those who work pay taxes to help with the finances of the country and rightfully to, however, in a modern society in which the abuse of the benefit system is calculated in many millions, why pay physically able men and women to sit at home and watch tv. those who live within city centres see the consequence of those who do not work for a living, but rely upon the state to feed dress and house them for no other reason than they can get away with it. the benefit system was introduced to help the needy in society not the healthy and able - as employer of last resort the government can in effect employ all those it currently pays to sit at home and give them a wage rather than a benefit, which by then gets taxed which helps the whole of society
