Healthcare Assistants- Enough for what we do?
HCAs are an integral part of healthcare giving.
We undertake a lot of responsibility, from bed making and changing, personal care, taking observations such as blood pressure and respirations, Informing doctors and nurses of any sudden changes in patients, helping patients mobilize, eat, wash, toileting, and generally making the patients stay in hospital more happier...Working as a HCA in hospital we get £7 an hour on average.
I feel this should be raised, People ask me why i do the job that i am, i answer.. Because i love the job that i do, helping patients. But we deserve more.
