Strip Alan Greenspan of his Knighthood
In 2002, then Chairman of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan received a knighthood for his "contribution to global economic stability". In retrospect Greenspan's contribution to the global economy appears to have been quite the reverse. The ideological neoliberalism and financial market deregulation championed by Greenspan during and before his time as Chairman of the Federal Reserve were in fact directly responsible for the global financial meltdown of 2008 and the economic catastrophes that have followed in its wake. In the light the the recent stripping of Fred Goodwin of his knighthood, should not the relevant civil service committee review the question of stripping Greenspan of his?
