Petition Action

Remove honours from all disreputable and dishonourable persons

Additional Information

The removal of the title 'Sir' from Fred Goodwin for bringing banking and financial management into disrepute should not end there.
All who receive an honour from the United Kingdom for 'services to....etc.' should suffer the same fate if they also bring dishonour on the title(s) conferred. Receiving an honour must be seen as a privilege, not a right, earned through honesty as well as demonstrating outstanding ability in a given field. Becoming dishonest, disreputable and an embarrassment to our country makes a person unworthy of retaining an honour of any kind and it should be forfeited.
