Petition Action

Disregard ECtHR ruling and deport Abu Qatada immediately

Additional Information

Between 2008 and 2009, Italy deported three terrorism suspects in spite of rulings by the European Court of Human Rights that they be allowed to remain in the country.

The ECtHR has no legal power to enforce its rulings and a certain level of responsibility and overall authority must lie with indivitual nations to deal with threats against national security.
