Tax on State Pensions
Persons on State Retirement Pensions pay into this for the whole of their working life. When it is paid it is added to other income and subject to Income Tax. This is grossly unfair considering that those in receipt of state benefit do not have to pay tax on any of their income and many of those have never worked and paid into the National Insurance. The government is urged to pay State Retirement Pensions free of all liability to Income Tax.
