Non Britsh Citizens be repatriated to serve custodial sentences for criminal offences in their own country
Given the enormous strain on the prison service, it is mooted that non Britsh Citizens convicted of a criminal offence that incurs a custodial sentence in excess of 18 months be repatriated to serve their sentence in the country of their Nationality. This to be regardless of their family circumstances.
It is not equitable that the British tax payer, who has probably been the victim of the offence, should also have to fund the rehabilitation and support of these individuals who have abused their hospitality. A recent example is a 34 year sentence for the murder of two pensioners.
