The creation of a Digital Data Dividend
We should be able to share in the wealth that is created from our data.
Our entire digital lives are being tracked and companies are selling our information and making money from it. Under GDPR legislation our data is our property, therefore we should share in the wealth that is created from it.
The government should look into:
1. The number of data broking companies that track UK citizens online
2. Determine whether these companies are transparent in their methods of tracking
3. Determine whether these companies should compensate people for making money from their data
There must be 2 outcomes:
1. It must be easier for people to control their own data
2. People must be able to share in the wealth that is created from their own data.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure what actions you would like the Government or Parliament to take to help people control their data, or how wealth should be shared from data creation.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
