Petition Action

Will the gov support self-employed individuals financially during Corona Virus?

Petition Details

Currently in the UK if your off work sick you will get statutory sick pay. The government is making employers pay full wages if this happens if employees are forced to self-isolate due to Corona Virus. However, for self-employed individuals, there is no statutory sick pay.

Additional Information

Will the government support those who are self-employed financially, and aren't entitled to SSP or any other benefits, and who may be forced to self-isolate? Otherwise, those who are self-employed will be forced to work through their illness risking cross-infection because they have no other source of income! What is the government going to do to help those taxpayers if anything?
