Support the Bill for a June Bank Holiday (United Kingdom Day).
Peter Bone MP's Bill proposes an annual Bank Holiday on the Friday nearest to June 23rd to be called United Kingdom Day.
Mr Bone listed a number of reasons for his Bill including
1) There is no BH between May & August
2) The UK has one of the lowest number of BHs in the world
3) There is no BH celebrating the whole of the UK
4) The Sovereign's Official Birthday is in June
5) Opportunity to celebrate all public servants
6) The likelihood of good weather is higher in June than any other month that currently has a BH.
7) June 23rd had the biggest democratic exercise in British history.
