Ensure balance and fairness in political reporting
Regulate all national and regional news media for impartiality and accuracy in line with Ofcom's broadcasting code to help ensure balance and fairness in political news reporting
The news media holds holds a unique place in our society holding both government and powerful organisations to account. It is therefore essential that their reporting is fair, accurate and balanced in all issues including politics, particularly during election and referendum campaigns.
As such we call for Ofcom's broadcasting code on impartiality and accuracy to be extended to all national and regional news media
