Petition Action

Guarantee the UK remains a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights.

Petition Details

We demand that Johnson’s government guarantees the UK will remain a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights post-Brexit, thereby ensuring the rights of UK citizens and residents continue to be protected by international law.

Additional Information

The Prime Minister has refused to formally commit to applying the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). This raises grave concerns for the future safety and protections of the fundamental rights of all people living in a post-Brexit UK.

Johnson’s government claims our basic rights will be protected, but they have repeatedly shown they cannot be trusted. The Convention affords us an independent authority to petition if our government seeks to violate our rights and freedoms.
