Scrap VAT On Digital Books
Printed books are exempt from VAT, and quite rightly so. Nobody, surely, wants a tax on learning? But ebooks (the kind you get on Kindle and so on) are not.
This is a ridiculous inconsistency. I won't list the reasons why - you're smart people, you can work it out yourself.
So - please sign if you want the government to remove the VAT duty on digital books.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
