Petition Action

Cancel A Level exams instead of delaying them.

Petition Details

Cancel the A Level exams in May and June instead of delaying them to the summer holidays in order to ease pressure on students, examiners and universities during the spread of the COVID-19.

Additional Information

Delaying A Levels to the summer holidays will make the university enrolment process shorter and harder as well as rushing examiners to mark with less time. People may also have already booked holidays. A better alternative is to cancel A levels overall and award students their predicted grades.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, and are not a matter for the UK Government or Parliament.
