Petition Action

Plant coral forests and save existing coral forests.

Petition Details

Coral reefs are dying around the world. Damaging activities include coral mining, pollution, overfishing, blast fishing, the digging of canals and access into islands and bays. Climate change, such as warming temperatures, causes coral bleaching, which if severe kills the coral.
STOP THIS!!!!

Additional Information

Coral trees absorb 4 times as much carbon dioxide as trees do!!! This means that coral forests are 4 times more valuable than forests.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly whether you want the UK Government to fund the creation of coral reefs in UK waters, or to support global efforts to increase coral reefs.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
